Blake Shelton Announces New Singing Competition Series Coming This Fall

After a 12-year run guiding aspiring artists on NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton, who recently concluded his 23-season stint, is shifting gears. Instead of reality TV, he will produce and host a new music competition on CBS called The Road. The show, set to premiere on October 19, will feature Urban, Shelton, and Gretchen Wilson as judges and mentors.

She shared her perspective on the contest, emphasizing the challenges artists face when opening for big stars like Urban. Urban highlighted the importance of real-world performance experience, noting that skills like song selection and crowd interaction can only be learned through practice. He also expressed his passion for touring as essential to his development as a performer.
