Details Emerge in Divorce Dispute Between Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers

Accusations have surfaced amid the ongoing divorce proceedings between actress Denise Richards and her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers. Phypers has publicly claimed that Richards suffers from a long-term Vicodin addiction, which he says has impacted their 14-year-old daughter, Eloise. He alleges she has been battling substance abuse for nearly a decade, mixing Vicodin—jokingly called “Vitamin D”—with Adderall and tequila. According to Phypers, her drug problems have become severe, leading to dangerous behavior such as passing out while consuming substances and even while driving with their daughter.

Phypers also claims Richards is engaged in an “ongoing” affair with another man, which he reportedly discovered earlier this year. Despite her pleas for him not to leave and promises to stay faithful, he asserts that she continued to deny any infidelity, even after explicit messages were found. He further alleges that Richards physically attacked him on July 4, the day they separated, during an incident involving their daughter and their personal belongings. Phypers states she smashed his phone and accused him of theft, moments before she announced her intention to divorce him.

Meanwhile, Richards secured a restraining order against Phypers last week, sharing disturbing court documents that include photos of her bruised face. She detailed instances of alleged violence, claiming Phypers would choke her, slam her head into fixtures, and threaten her with death if she reported him to authorities. She recounted a violent fight on July 4, where she alleges he became enraged after she asked him to leave their home, shouting profanities at her and using degrading language.

Phypers has denied Richards’ claims of abuse, asserting that he has never harmed her physically. He describes their marital issues as complex and a “cry for help,” asking for public prayers. The divorce, filed earlier this month citing “irreconcilable differences,” adds another chapter to their tumultuous relationship. Richards has not publicly commented on the allegations.
