Trump Boasts ‘Highest Ever’ Approval Ratings Amid Epstein Backlash
President Trump Claims His Support Rises Despite Epstein Controversy
President Donald Trump has announced that his approval ratings within the Republican base and among MAGA supporters have increased significantly, even amid ongoing discussions surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, who is widely regarded as a sex offender. Trump tweeted that poll numbers reached record highs of 90%, 92%, 93%, and 95%, reflecting strong backing from his party and supporters who favor strict border policies and his policies overall.
Recent surveys support Trump’s claim, with a CNN poll showing an 88% approval rating among Republicans, and a Quinnipiac poll reporting 90%. These figures mark a rise from prior polls, indicating a solid base backing him despite controversy.
Recently, the controversy surrounding Epstein was reignited after a Justice Department and FBI memo concluded there was no evidence Epstein had a client list, suggesting his death was most likely suicide. The findings prompted calls from MAGA figures, like Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon, for more transparency regarding Epstein’s case.
Trump initially dismissed the Epstein issue as a “hoax” driven by radical Democrats and resisted releasing further information. However, he later called for the release of grand jury testimonies related to Epstein, leaving the decision up to the courts. Despite the controversy, Trump’s approval ratings among Republicans remain high, with most polls showing support at nearly the same levels as before.
Recent polling indicates that the Epstein scandal is not a major concern for the majority of Republican voters, with over half stating it doesn’t influence their view of Trump’s presidency at all. Outside the GOP, though, his overall approval has slightly dipped to 45.5%, with disapproval at 52.1%.
