Driver Crashes into Massachusetts Campground Pool with Vacationers
Driver Accidentally Drives Into a Pool at Massachusetts Campground
During a Sunday afternoon at Sunsetview Farm Camping Area, a red SUV unexpectedly crashed through a fence and into a swimming pool, just as families were enjoying the water. Thankfully, no injuries were reported among the swimmers. The incident occurred around 1:05 p.m., prompting immediate response from local authorities.
The campground issued a statement calling it “a horrible incident with the best possible outcome,” emphasizing that everyone inside the car was safely removed. The fire department used a crane to lift the vehicle out of the pool, with the car hanging in mid-air as it was carefully lowered back onto land. Its trunk and driver’s side door remained open during this process.
The cause of the accident remains unclear, and no arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing to determine why the driver veered so far off-road.
Founded in 1970, Sunsetview Farm Camping Area has a long history, previously serving as a farm and orchard operated by the same family for over a century. Incidents of drivers losing control and ending up in pools are not rare, with previous examples including a Long Island motorist who crashed into a backyard pool and a driver in Arizona rescued from a backyard pool on Halloween night.
