Alexander Isak’s Agent Opens Up on Newcastle Star’s Future Amid Liverpool Interest

Agent of Alexander Isak Speaks on Newcastle Forward’s Future Amid Liverpool Interest

The representative of Newcastle United’s striker Alexander Isak has publicly addressed speculation about the player’s future, amid ongoing interest from Liverpool.

Liverpool are prepared to make a record-breaking transfer to sign Isak, despite having already invested over £116 million this summer on Florian Wirtz. The potential deal is expected to exceed £125 million, with Liverpool reportedly awaiting encouragement from Newcastle to proceed. However, the Magpies have firmly stated that Isak is not available for transfer, leading Liverpool to consider alternative targets such as Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike for a transfer fee around £82 million.

In an interview with Saudi Arabian media, Isak’s agent, Gonzalo Gaitan, mentioned that all options are currently being evaluated and that negotiations for the player’s next step are close to completion. Interest from Gulf state clubs has also emerged, adding to the speculation surrounding his future.

The 25-year-old has been absent from Newcastle’s recent pre-season friendly, a 4-0 defeat to Celtic, due to ongoing uncertainty about his role at the club. Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, explained that the decision to send Isak home was due to the mental strain of the speculation and the need to protect the player from undue pressure. Howe reassured that Isak is happy at Newcastle and remains an integral part of the team, emphasizing the importance of top players and expressing confidence he will be available at the start of the new season.

Since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022, Isak has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top strikers, scoring 62 goals in 109 appearances across all competitions, including a goal in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool last season.
