Liverpool’s New Bromance! Wirtz & Frimpong’s Sun-Kissed Holiday Sparks Liverpool Transfer Frenzy!
Liverpool are set to welcome two new stars, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, who recently showcased their playful side during a sunny holiday. The duo posted a photo on a boat off Montenegro’s coast, enjoying the sun, with combined talent valued at approximately £145.5 million.
Wirtz, wearing a bucket hat, is on the verge of joining from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal potentially worth up to £116 million, while Frimpong has already transferred for £29.5 million. Both players have enjoyed recent success, winning the Bundesliga title during an unbeaten season under Xabi Alonso in 2023-24. They’ve played together for five years, strengthening their bond off the pitch as well as on it.
Before officially joining Liverpool, Wirtz is scheduled for a medical exam later this week in the UK, expected this Friday. Meanwhile, the squad prepares for an intense pre-season under new manager Arne Slot, who is aiming for back-to-back Premier League titles and Champions League success.
Last summer, Slot’s unconventional training methods—ranging from boxing to shooting ranges—earned him some criticism but also respect for their effectiveness. Liverpool has strengthened their roster early with the signings of Frimpong and Wirtz and are also in negotiations over Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, valued at around £45 million. Although Trent Alexander-Arnold has left for Real Madrid, optimism remains high for the upcoming season.
Wirtz and Frimpong will debut during pre-season trips to Preston North End, with matches against AC Milan, Yokohama FM, and Athletic Club scheduled for early August. These fixtures are set to feature multiple lineups, with Slot expected to rotate extensively.
Wirtz, highly regarded but still to prove himself, is expected to complete his move shortly after his medical and will be signing a five-year contract. The 22-year-old turned down interest from top clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, choosing Liverpool instead after viewing properties near Cheshire.
