Texas Judge Nearly Loses Cool Over Man Wearing ‘World’s Best Farter’ Shirt—You Won’t Believe What Happens Next!

A straightforward Texas judge publicly reprimanded a man who showed up to his felony court hearing wearing a T-shirt labeled “World’s Best Farter.”

Judge Raquel West from Jefferson County was visibly displeased with Sammy Morris’ clothing choice during his court appearance last week, footage shared on the court’s YouTube page shows.

“What made you think that was appropriate to wear to court today?” she asked him sharply.

Morris explained that he chose the shirt — which read “World’s Best Farter” with “I mean father” scribbled underneath — because it was the only one available to wear.

“That was the only shirt you had to wear?” the judge asked skeptically.

He argued that the shirt’s message was playful and that it said “father,” but Judge West was not convinced.

“No, it clearly states… I can read it,” she replied firmly, reprimanding him for his unprofessional attire given the seriousness of the court setting.

The judge emphasized that as he was in felony court, appropriate dress was necessary. She concluded, “You need to dress properly for this court, and that isn’t it.”

Participants in court — lawyers, parties, and others — are instructed to wear “appropriate business attire,” which generally includes a suit or a sports coat with dress slacks and a collared shirt, often with a tie, according to Texas court guidelines.

The judge also scolded Morris for not hiring legal representation, noting that he had called three lawyers but received no responses in time for his court date. She advised him to make more effort if necessary, stating, “If you need to call 20 attorneys, do so.”

Her order was to delay his case for 30 days and for him to secure legal counsel. She warned, “If you show up again without a lawyer, your bond will be revoked, and you will return to jail.”

It remains unclear what felony charges Morris faces.
