Driver Crashes Into Crowd Outside Los Angeles Nightclub, Injuring Over 30
A vehicle struck more than 30 people gathered outside an East Hollywood nightclub early Saturday morning, leaving several in critical condition. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when a Nissan Versa sped into a crowd waiting outside The Vermont Hollywood, located on Santa Monica Boulevard near Vermont Avenue.
The victims had been standing in line to attend a scheduled event, which was promoted as a major regional reggaeton and hip-hop party. Witnesses reported that people were in line, some eating from a taco cart or waiting at a valet station, when the car suddenly rammed into the group.
Images from the scene show a damaged vehicle on the sidewalk amid debris, with emergency responders attending to the injured. At least three victims were critically hurt, one with a gunshot wound, though it’s unclear whether the shooting was related to the crash. Many victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, with some suffering serious injuries.
The majority of those injured were women, attendees of the event. While the causes of the collision are under investigation, authorities have not publicly identified the driver or confirmed the reason for the crash. The incident is being thoroughly examined by the LAPD.
First responders responded quickly, with many working to assist the injured before emergency services arrived. Officials say the injuries ranged from critical to fair condition, with reports indicating four to five victims in critical condition and 8 to 10 in serious condition.
Images capture the aftermath, showing a scene cordoned off by police with a vehicle being removed and debris scattered across the street. This tragic event is still under active investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the crash.
