Beyoncé Fan’s Scream Sparks Stampede at Atlanta Show, 11 Injured
Chaos Erupts After Beyoncé’s Atlanta Concert, Triggering Stampede and Injuries
A minor scare involving a girl’s scream over an insect led to a large-scale panic, causing a stampede at an Atlanta transit station that resulted in 11 hospitalizations. The incident occurred late at night following Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour performance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
According to authorities, the panic started shortly after midnight at the Vine City MARTA station. Fans evacuated the stadium and rushed toward the station, where the loud scream of a 10-year-old girl—startled by a bug—set off a chain reaction among the crowd inside the station.
Shocking footage captured the chaos, showing injured individuals being assisted into ambulances. Witnesses reported a surge of people running down the escalator, which then malfunctioned, causing a sudden halt and pile-up. One attendee described being pinned under others during the crush.
MARTA officials stated the escalator involved in the incident has been sealed off for investigation, with the manufacturer and safety authorities looking into what caused the malfunction. MARTA’s acting CEO, Rhonda Allen, promised improved crowd management and increased staffing during future events.
Several witnesses described the scene as frightening. Amber Anderson, a concert attendee, recounted being trapped beneath a person amid the chaos. She remarked on how sudden the fear was, just hours after the theft of Beyoncé’s unreleased music, which included sensitive plans for her tour and personal files stored in stolen luggage.
The stolen suitcases reportedly contained unreleased Beyoncé tracks and private tour information, along with valuable personal items such as clothing, laptops, and AirPods. Authorities are investigating the incident and the theft, which added to the evening’s turmoil.
