Nicole Scherzinger Reflects on Her Experience Working with Liam Payne

Nicole Scherzinger shared heartfelt memories of working with Liam Payne on the Netflix series Building the Band. The Pussycat Dolls singer, who serves as a judge alongside Liam, described her time with him as a “really beautiful” experience.

She recalled that they became quite close during filming, emphasizing Liam’s kind and compassionate nature. “Liam is such a kind and beautiful heart,” she said. “I’m glad I got to spend time with him. It’s wonderful that the world can see another of his talents — his ability to nurture emerging artists and bands.”

Nicole admired Liam’s generosity and dedication, noting that even off-camera, he engaged passionately with fans and performed enthusiastically. “He was incredible. I was truly impressed by his selflessness and energy in his element,” she added.

The artist chose to participate in Building the Band, hosted by AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys and featuring Kelly Rowland as a judge, because of her extensive experience mentoring new talent from her previous TV roles. She sees mentoring as a core part of her identity: “I take pride in helping others and trying to see the best in artists. I was eager to bring my experience to this show.”

Nicole highlighted the importance of humility in team success. Reflecting on her time with the Pussycat Dolls, she said, “Not having an ego is crucial. Everyone plays a vital role, and a successful band relies on harmonious collaboration.”

She pointed out that many talented soloists are part of a band, and knowing when to lead or harmonize is key. “When forming groups, it’s essential to understand your role and contribute to the collective strength,” she explained.
