Noni Madueke Thanks Chelsea Fans Amid Controversial £52 Million Transfer to Arsenal

Noni Madueke has publicly expressed gratitude to Chelsea supporters who criticized him prior to his transfer to Arsenal for £52 million. The winger acknowledged the support from some fans and praised Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, describing it as a privilege to play under him.

Madueke also thanked other staff members and his teammates for their support during his time at Chelsea. In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram, he said: “To every staff member that helped me along this journey, thank you. To my teammates, I leave with love and admiration. We achieved much this season, and I wish you all the best.”

He further dedicated appreciation to Enzo Maresca, stating, “It was a privilege to play under you. Thank you for your efforts to improve me both as a player and a person. And to the Chelsea fans, thank you for your love, praise, and criticism. I leave here with fond memories.”

Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV in January 2023, making 92 appearances and scoring 20 goals. He contributed to their success in winning the Conference League last season and featured in their Club World Cup victory.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete his move to Arsenal as their fourth summer signing, following Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard. Arsenal are also pursuing Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Reactions from some Arsenal fans have been mixed, with criticisms over the transfer fee. Nonetheless, many see Madueke as a promising addition to the squad, capable of providing wide options, especially on the right flank, and possibly on the left.
