Internet Backs Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Amid Kristin Cabot Scandal
Wife of CEO Caught on Kiss Cam at Coldplay Concert Responds
The wife of a prominent tech CEO received widespread support after she was publicly identified on a jumbotron at a Coldplay concert, which showed her seemingly having an affair with a co-worker. Fans praised her decision to remove her married name from her Facebook profile, indicating her response to the scandal.
Internet users quickly identified Megan Kerrigan Byron as the wife in question. The CEO, Andy Byron, was seen cuddling with Kristin Cabot, his head of HR, during the concert, sparking rumors of infidelity. Several online commentators urged Kerrigan to proceed with a divorce and to seek justice, with some telling her to “get that divorce lawyer and get the money.”
Following the incident, Kerrigan deactivated her Facebook and Instagram accounts. Prior to her disappearance from social media, she had removed her married name, Byron, from her profile and left comments open on her Facebook page. A photo shows Kerrigan with a child at a baseball game, and another image captures her with her husband and teenagers, illustrating her personal life beyond the controversy.
Supporters expressed sympathy and encouragement, with messages like “Sorry you’re going through this.” Others suggested she take action financially, with one comment reading, “Get that check, girl” and another hoping she would “take him for all he’s worth.”
Connections between Kerrigan and Byron date back years. The couple divorced in 2022, according to public records, and they share at least one child. Kristin Cabot previously filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Kenneth Thornby, in 2018. It is unknown if Cabot has remarried since.
The incident drew further attention when a video showed Byron and Cabot hurriedly trying to hide from the camera during the concert. Lead singer Chris Martin appeared confused when the scandalous image appeared, commenting on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
