Andy Byron, Astronomer CEO, Allegedly Threatened Employees Before Coldplay Concert
CEO Allegedly Caught Cheating at Coldplay Concert and Faces Management Criticism
Andy Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, is facing scrutiny not only for reportedly being unfaithful during a recent Coldplay concert but also for his leadership style. According to a resurfaced report, Byron’s behavior at a previous company was so detrimental that it caused many employees to resign.
Ex-employees claimed Byron was quick to lash out at staff who disagreed with him, often threatening to fire those who challenged his authority. An article highlighted that users couldn’t challenge Byron without repercussions, depicting him as an intimidating boss.
Byron, who took on the role of chief revenue officer at Cybereason in 2017, reportedly applied enormous pressure on his team. Former employees described an environment driven by relentless growth, which led to dissatisfaction among staff.
One ex-employee stated, “We started with promise but the pressure to grow faster and faster was overwhelming.” As a result, morale plummeted, with some current employees stating, “People loved the company, but now they hate it.”
Following his departure, Byron allegedly hired loyal sales staff from his former employer, Fuze. When questioned, Byron claimed that his decisions were aimed at advancing the company’s growth, dismissing allegations of misconduct as misunderstandings.
Adding to his controversies, Byron was recently seen embracing coworker Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston. The pair quickly moved out of sight after being caught on a kiss cam, prompting frontman Chris Martin to joke about their apparent relationship, “Either they’re having an affair or very shy.”
Once identified, it was confirmed Byron was married, further fueling speculation about the alleged affair. His wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, has since deactivated her social media accounts and remained silent on the incident.
