Maurene Comey, DOJ Prosecutor in Epstein & Diddy Cases, Claims Unjust Firing

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey Denounces Unexplained Firing

Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, announced she was abruptly dismissed from her position at the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office without any provided reasons. She expressed concern that such an action could instill fear among remaining staff, potentially impacting their decision-making processes.

Comey revealed that her termination happened unexpectedly via a memo from Main Justice, which did not specify any cause. She emphasized the significance of this event, considering her recent prosecutions involving high-profile cases, including Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In a memo to colleagues, obtained by the press, Comey stated, “Yesterday was unexpectedly my last day in the Office. I was summarily fired via memo from Main Justice that did not give a reason for my termination.” Her recent work included prosecuting cases against Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and most recently, Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Comey warned that if a career prosecutor can be fired without cause, it could lead to a climate of fear that hampers independence and integrity within the justice system. She urged her colleagues to resist succumbing to fear, asserting, “Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns at the heart of this place.”
