Los Angeles Mayor Just Lifted the Downtown Curfew During Protests—Shocking Reversal!

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has lifted the curfew in downtown LA that was initially enforced due to clashes with police and vandalism during protests against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

The curfew, set on June 10, was credited with reducing crime and safeguarding local businesses, residents, and eateries from vandalism, stated Bass, a Democrat.

By Monday, she shortened the curfew hours following a noticeable decline in arrests and violence during the protests.

The original curfew was introduced after 23 businesses were targeted, attributed to agitators aiming to incite trouble, with Bass remarking that the city “reached a tipping point.”

The restricted area was a small section of downtown—about one square mile—covering the sites of ongoing protests.

Last week, President Trump ordered around 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles after protests surged over his immigration enforcement tactics.

On Sunday, Trump instructed federal officials to prioritize deportations from Democratic-led cities, amid widespread protests against his immigration policies.
