LA Creep, Dr:u:g User, Charged with Killing ‘American Idol’ Boss, Terrorized Neighborhoods

Suspect in Double Homicide Near Encino Murder Scene Arrested

A 22-year-old man linked to the murder of a prominent “American Idol” producer and her husband in Encino was a known drug user who caused concern in his neighborhood due to his erratic behavior and prior arrests.

Raymond Boodarian lived close to the victims’ upscale home and was often reported by neighbors for his disruptive conduct. An elderly neighbor recounted incidents where Boodarian appeared high and sat outside her friend’s house staring and smiling for extended periods.

He was arrested after the bodies of Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, were discovered inside their home with multiple gunshot wounds. Police linked Boodarian to the crime scene through fingerprint evidence and security footage. It is believed he broke into their heavily fortified residence, and upon returning home, the couple encountered him, leading to a violent struggle that resulted in their deaths.

He had a history of violent behavior, with multiple arrests dating back to 2023 for charges including weapons, battery, and threats—though charges were later dismissed due to mental health concerns.

Photos from his arrest showed him shirtless with hands behind his back, surrounded by police in body armor. Authorities noted that he had been inside the victims’ home for about half an hour before the fatal confrontation occurred, with a witness seeing someone jump the fence earlier that day.

The investigation revealed that Boodarian’s earlier arrests, along with security footage, connected him to the scene. It is suspected he committed the break-in on Thursday and shot the couple when they returned home. An officer described the victims as having been “ruthlessly shot multiple times.”

This tragic event is part of a recent surge in burglaries in Encino, where at least eight break-ins occurred during the summer months following a similar pattern—thieves breaking in through windows and doors while residents were present. Police believe local gangs targeted multiple neighborhoods over extended periods.

Despite his history, law enforcement does not believe Boodarian is part of any larger criminal organization.
