American Idol Boss Robin Kaye Felt Something Was Wrong Before Tragic Encounter

Music Executive and Husband Found Dead in Encino Home After Suspected Burglary

A prominent music executive and her husband were discovered murdered inside their upscale Los Angeles residence. Robin Kaye, known for her work as a music supervisor on “American Idol,” and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, were both found with gunshot wounds to the head, each in separate rooms.

Police responded to their home following a welfare check, as they had been unreachable for four days. Blood was found at the scene, along with a broken window, suggesting a break-in. Investigators revealed that the couple’s bodies were not identified until Monday.

Neighbors reported that the neighborhood has experienced frequent thefts over the years. Police indicated that Raymond Boodarian, 22, was arrested shortly after the bodies were discovered. He is believed to have entered the home during a July 10 burglary while the couple was away but was interrupted by their return, leading to a confrontation that ended in murder.

Detectives clarified that Boodarian had no known connection to the victims and that the burglary appeared to be an isolated incident unrelated to organized crime. He was reportedly inside the home for approximately 30 minutes before the couple caught him.

Robin Kaye, who worked on “American Idol” for over 15 seasons and also contributed to shows like “Lip Sync Battle,” “Miss USA,” and “Miss Universe,” was a respected figure in the music industry. Her husband was a musician. The couple’s luxurious property, purchased in 2023 for around $4.5 million, featured high walls and security measures, making the attack particularly startling.

Neighbors shared that although a break-in was reported nearby, there had been no signs of forced entry at their home prior to the killings. An investigation is ongoing as authorities piece together the events leading up to this tragic incident.
