Man United Unveils New Tech at Old Trafford for Player Analysis
Manchester United to Install Advanced Player Tracking Technology at Old Trafford
Manchester United has announced plans to upgrade its player analysis capabilities by installing cutting-edge tracking technology at both Old Trafford stadium and their training facilities at Carrington, following the extension of their partnership with STATSports.
The new infrastructure will be in place at the stadium and training ground, with players continuing to wear the Apex 2.0 GPS performance trackers during training and matches. This fixed setup eliminates the need for portable beacons, allowing analysts to monitor player performance more precisely in real time.
According to club insiders, this technology will save coaching staff up to 20 hours per week, providing more time for in-depth analysis and tailored feedback. The club emphasized that this move underscores their commitment to adopting world-class performance hardware solutions.
Head of physical performance, Ed Leng, highlighted the importance of wearable technology in pushing the boundaries of player performance. He expressed gratitude to STATSports for their ongoing support and partnership, stating that these trackers enable deeper insights across all male and female squads, from academy players to the first team.
